LOtC Quality Badge
We want schools to be able to travel with confidence
The LOtC Quality Badge helps schools to identify good quality and safe provision. It also helps to reduce red tape making it simpler for teachers to plan school trips. This is why we have been using this accreditation as the benchmark safety and educational standards since 2008.
The LOtC Quality Badge incorporates safety standards for all types of activity and combines learning and safety into one easily recognisable accreditation for all organisations providing learning experiences outside the classroom.
If an organisation holds this accreditation, teachers and parents can be assured of:
Strict risk management processes across all areas of operations
Robust safeguarding and child protection procedures
Clear and accurate information given well in advance on services, amenities and costs
Learning objectives for the activities on offer and the flexibility to tailor activities according to a group's needs
Guidance and information on preparing pupils for the visit to maximise learning opportunities
A culture of listening to schools' feedback and working to meet their requirements
All School Travel Forum members are audited annually by independent experts to ensure they comply with our safety management systems, financial protection requirements and fair trading policies.
These standards are informed by experts and stakeholders and represent best practice, upheld by qualified external auditors. The LOtC Quality Badge provides schools with an easy and highly effective way to exercise due diligence in this area.
