Earlier in the week Ofsted published a report on the teaching of History in English School. The full report can be read here. The report finds that the history curriculum is most effective if it is “enriched by wide-ranging out-of-classroom opportunities which complemented students’ knowledge and historical understanding”, specifically mentioning trips to Ypres battlefields.
The School Travel Forum welcomes this as yet more evidence of the value of school trips.
