Despite the resignation of Lord Young, the government says it will stand by the recommendations made in his review of health and safety policy, with employment minister Chris Grayling at the helm.
In a question to Grayling in Parliament, Simon Kirby MP asked which minister would now be responsible for implementing the report and what timetable had been established.
Chris Grayling said: “The government has welcomed Lord Young ’s recommendations and is taking forward implementation on the basis of the timetable set out in his report. Actions for individual departments or agencies are included in business plans.
“The HSE is taking forward recommendations within its remit and is on track with delivery to Lord Young’s timetable.”
