Abolition of AALA

House of Commons Written Answer

Lord German received an answer to his written question asking when the Health and Safety Executive intends to begin a consultation on adventure activities.

In response, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Work and Pensions, Lord Freud, said that HSE intends to begin a consultation on adventure activities in June 2011. He also noted that Lord Young's report Common Sense, Common Safety, recommended the abolition of the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and its replacement with a code of practice that HSE will oversee and monitor.

We will monitor for the publication of the consultation next month and alert members as soon as this is available.
